Beyonce looking for a part in Broadway

Well-known singer and actress Beyonce Knowles has recently indicated her interest to settle down in a couple of years, have children with her husband and….make a debut career on Broadway, according to an interview given by her to Reuters. According to the Grammy Award winning artist, having a role on stage is her “ideal job”, speaking while while while promoting her latest film role in “Obsessed”. In her new film, she plays a part of a wife who takes on a stalker of her husband.

“I’ll be able to go to the theatre every day and drop my kids off….and maybe make some food — maybe I’ll know how to cook by then — and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule,” she was found admitting to the news agency.

She also added, “I definitely want to do Broadway.”

Knowles, 27, talking about her latest role, says that she loved playing the part of her movie character Charles Sharon in “Obsessed,” which opens in U.S. cinemas today. This was her first film role singing on the screen after the musical performances such as “Cadillac Records” and “Dreamgirls.”

“I love this role because in most of these movies the man comes in and saves the day. And my character Sharon is the hero. She’s strong and doesn’t choose to be the victim, call her husband, call the police, hide in the attic — she fights,” said Knowles.

The singer is currently embarking on an “I Am …” world tour, which begins this week in Croatia. She is dramatic, but “….I wouldn’t say Broadway, ” said Knowles, who has sold over 50 million albums worldwide.

Well, we wish Beyonce all the best in her future career and certainly it would be interesting to see such a talented actress-singer to make her mark on Broadway in a few years’ time. We are sure that she could do it!
