Mobile technology has advanced significantly over the past few years. From 2G to 3G and now moving on to 4G, there sure seems to be some huge infrastructure restructuring to be made to cater to the latest demands by consumers. Right now the internet has boomed so greatly that the amount of internet users has gone more than one hundred times that of 10 years ago that IPv4 IPs are almost the extent of depletion. In order to expand this pool of IP address for new websites on the internet, discussions in the lte forum have been going on the past year to move into IPv6 which caters to over a few trillion IP addresses. The only problem lies with upgrading ISPs infrastructure to the new technology as there are immense upgrading to be done at the expense of these ISP companies. Hence there are some reluctance across the globe for telecoms to implement this switch over.
In order to meet the demands and requirements of the 21st century users, expensive infrastructure upgrades are required and they are estimated to last us for the next 10 years with ipv6. The forum consist of fruitful discussions on how to go about the implementation phase and all cities are encouraged to update by 2011.
