The team is sent in to investigate when corpses are found with their spinal fluid drained from their bodies. Clues lead to scientist Nicholas Boone who has ties to ZFT. He sacrifices himself to making a cure for his wife Valerie, who is responsible for the deaths due to an illness. It is also revealed that William Bell has been funding ZFT.
